If I had been more prepared and into the current news, I would have totally planned for the solar eclipse. By the time I started thinking about it, it was too late. I hadn't ordered glasses, planned to travel to a spot to view the total eclipse, anything. Luckily Dave helped us out and round up 2 pairs of glasses so we could view it from home. I figured at our house we could view it, not totally but 9%. It was so cool. It was crazy how the lighting got weird. It was a bright sunny day, but when the eclipse started happening it got less bright. Sunny but kind of dark. And the temperature dropped a bit. It really was a cool, eerie feeling.
After hearing and seeing peoples pictures of being in the total eclipse, I kind of wish we had driven up to Idaho to see it. It really was a cool event to experience, even if we didn't see a total eclipse from where we were.
The eclipse happened the day before school started. So that evening we went out on our traditional Night Before School Starts dinner. The kids chose Chili's to eat.
We were going to go mini golfing too, but Toads' mini golf course was flooded, so we just went home nd got ready for school the next morning. We will have to do it some other time.
