~Spring Piano Recital~

Hunter and Mckell did a great job at their piano recital.  I love hearing them play the piano.
Hunter had quite the support system there to hear him play :)  The team had a game in Salt Lake, so as soon as Hunter played they headed out to their game.  Luckily Mckell went first, so Dave and Jerry and Darinda were able to hear her play as well.
Hunter did miss out on the group picture.  This may have been his last recital.  He has gotten so busy with basketball, that we have decided to let him focus on that.  I'm still going to make him occasionally play though because I do really like hearing him play.

~Mckell is 10~

Happy Birthday to my sweet Mckell!  10 years old!  Mckell is such a beautiful girl, inside and out.  She is always thinking about others and their feelings.  She is so sweet to her brothers and sister, and is such a mother to them all.  She is a great helper to Dave and me, she works so hard in school, and she is a great dancer, piano player, and artist. She brings so much joy to our family!  We love you Mckell!
We woke Mckell up with a family chorus of "Happy Birthday" and let Mckell open a few presents.  All of which were clothes, so she got to pick which outfit to wear.  Dave also got her her favorite breakfast, McDonalds bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits and hashrowns.  While she was at school her big present was delivered.  She knew she would get to see her big present when she got home from school, and couldn't wait.
Mckell's big present was a new bed, comforter, pillows, and some room decorations.  She totally wasn't expecting that.
Love Mckell's room!  I couldn't get a good angle to include her art desk.  Happy Birthday Kelly!
Mckell had a fun friend birthday party.  We went and got our hair and nails done at the ATC, came back for pizza, games, and a movie.  Such a fun group of girls! This is the before picture.
This is the after picture.  The girls had so much fun getting pampered.

Mckell had a great birthday.  The following evening we celebrated her birthday with family.
Mckell and Katelyn.

I am so not a cake person.  I planned banana splits for dessert not really thinking about blowing out candles, but luckily Darinda came through with a cake just for Mckell.  I'm really glad she thinks of those things.
Somewhere Mckell heard that in Mexico it is tradition to smash the birthday person in the face with their cake.  She asked if she could do this.  I told her its her birthday so of course.  She thought it was great, lol.

Mckell is so fun!  I love her fun loving personality!  Happy 10th Birthday!

~Weber Cone Elementary Chior Concert~

This is Mckell's first time being in the school choir, so I really didn't know what to expect.  About a month or so ago, they sent home a paper telling about all the choir concerts that would be coming up.  I hung it on the corkboard and totally forgot about it.  On the way to art class yesterday, Mckell mentioned that she had a choir concert that evening.  I totally forgot about that, and honestly thought it was just another informal concert, like the one we had right before spring break, but I was wrong.  I felt really bad, because I was the only one from the family that went.  If I would have known that it was a big choir concert, the whole family would have been there.  Whoops!  My bad!  Mckell did a great job!  She even had a special part (which I knew nothing about), where she came to the front and spun a lasso.  I was shocked, cause I didn't have any idea she was doing that.  I guess we need to have better communication :)  So proud of Mckell!

~Easter~

We got back from St George just in time to get ready for the Easter festivities.  It is a tradition to hit Lees's Market to go on the bunny trail and meet the Easter bunny.  I was a little sad this year that Hunter wanted no part of that.  It made me realize he is growing up :(
Garrett wasn't afraid of the Easter Bunny this year :)  Which made me realize that he too is growing up.
Later that night we painted Easter Eggs and watched The Ten Commandments, another Easter tradition.  Hunter didn't want to decorate eggs either.  What a party pooper!
The Easter bunny came and left lots of goodies.  He likes to hide the kids Easter baskets.  But luckily he doesn't hide Dave and my basket.  :)  We get to help Garrett find his.  The kids LOVE this, and it's a race to see who finds their basket the first.
Mckell was first to find her Easter basket.  It was in the Laundry shoot.
Hunter found his in the theater room, Garrett's was in Dave and my shower.
Lexi's basket was in the back seat of the Tahoe.  The kids got lots of candy, an outfit, a toy/ITunes card, and a movie from the Easter Bunny.  I love the excitement of the holidays!
We enjoyed all the candy as we enjoyed hearing from our prophets for General Conference.  After conference, my family humored me by letting me get pictures of us all in our new Easter outfits.

I love this family of mine!!!!
After our photo shoot, lol  We headed over to my parents for an Easter Egg Hunt and lunch.

The Easter Bunny hid baskets for the kids and Grandma and Grandpa's too.
I love the traditions that we have on the holidays.  Hopefully it is something my kids will look back on when they are older and cherish.  We have so much fun together.  Families are Forever!!!
Poor Garrett was tuckered out.  He barely even make it to the couch to fall asleep.  That is a sign of a fun Easter day.
